kimmos,
There are probably grayhound buses that go from Nahsville to Memphis. I would drive though, if I were you. Where are you staying in Nashville?
There are flights also, but they will be expensive.
The cheapest, fastest, safest thing to do is rent a car and drive. If that isn't an option, I guess I'd do the bus.
Let me know if I can help more!

Hi Katiel, thanks for your reply...was hoping that you would notice my question as it is quite an old post. staying at Courtyard Nashville Downtown... heard it is a pretty nice place. Would a cab be the best option from the airport to hotel? Would prob take your suggestion, rent a car and drive to Memphis. It's just that we are from Aussieland and we do things the opposite way!

kimmos,
I understand your aprehension at driving. I was just in Europe, and wouldn't have considered driving after I saw what an adjustment it would be.
Yes, I recommend taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel. It will be around $30 probably.
I think you will be fine driving. You can pick up a rental car downtown probably. They should tell you how to get to I-40. That interstate will take you all of the way to Memphis. It is a nice drive. There is some construction, but not too much right now. Will you be here in the fall? If so, it will be gorgeous with the trees changing colors.
On another note, I'll be in your country on my honeymoon in 10 days!! We're going to Sydney and Melbourne for a week, and then to New Zealand for a week. We are getting married at a church named Christ Church here in Nashville. My fiance wanted to say that we got married in Christ Church and then honeymooned in Christchurch.
I know it will be whirlwind, but that's what he wanted. Since he did absolutely all of the planning, I'm not complaining!
