Boston - Constitution Inn??

Anyone know anything about the Constitution Inn?? Reviews on tripadvisor sound ok. Hotels are so pricey in Boston & I know this is an out of the way area but am considering it for a $179. king. Are there any restaurants within walking distance? We will have a car. We are going Oct 16-18, flying out of Logan Sat. a.m. the 18th.

Thanks for any info,
Karen

The location is decent, there are some restaurants in that area. It's also a nice walk over the bridge to the North End and Faneuil Hall. The only drawback is that it's not near a T stop.

Cobbie: you might want to check with the Inn, but last I knew they had a free shuttle that takes you to the North Station T stop - and I think it is offered every half hour -

from the North Station T you can then go tons of places without your car (look at mbta.com and see how easy it is to use the system)

If you are renting a car for some particular reason, that is one thing - if you are flying in and out - I would nix the car and use public transportation

You may also inquire about the city water taxis from Logan - I know they go to Pier 4/USS Constitution Wharf, navy yard - if that helps you I am not sure -

I think the people at the Inn should be able to give you several options, including standard taxi (and they are all in line at the airport) as well as any others -

so between walking (which you can also do as Wyatt suggested) you have the option of their shuttle as a use when you are tired or do not want to walk -

so paying for a rental car to just get to and from the airport seems a waste of money to me - again, unless you are planning a driving day to some particular destination you can not reach by public transportation - bus, boat, T, cab, etc.....

i should have added - go to
www.massport.com

on the drop down menu choose getting to and from logan and you can see some of your options rather than rental car

Nice walk in good weather - miserable if it is cold and windy.

I believe that is the weekend of the Head of the Charles regatta - if so, that will add to price and reduce availability of hotel. If you find something, jump on it now.

Have you tried the Harborside Inn yet? It has a great location and decent prices. Let me know, and I can make a call for you.

Just googled dates - this is Head of the Charles. Fun time to be in city - tough time to get hotel room. Make reservations now - you may not be able to be too picky.
