Optics are going to vary in quality, feature, and price as with most products. Manufacturers will have differing build qualities as well. My advice would be to go to a site like Amazon.com, and check out a variety of pairs with different features and in different price ranges. They also have customer reviews for most popular models.
Good luck!

Those sound like a very nice set of binoculars. I like the waterproof feature for Alaska. Personally, I would find the ten power hard to hold steady without something to brace against, and the 42mm objectives would not gather enough light for poor conditions, IMO.
I use binoculars mostly on the boat, so steadiness in a seaway, and "night glasses" are more important for me, than for you, if you are on a cruise ship or in a car.
Hope this helps.

Where are you going in Alaska and what will you be looking for? How much time will you spend outside in the rain vs in a bus or boat?
You will want something different for, say, being on a boat (maybe IS) vs serious birding vs looking at bears.
Waterproof 10x42's lacking stabilization are OK for some things, not right for others, in my experience.

My DH says the Denali sounds like what you'd need (to him).
He has 9 X 62 Celestron. Says this 'gathers light', which you probably won't need.
Celestron.com
He bought his through Adorama.com for about $159.00.
