BiddingForTravel.com Information

I wondered why I was getting so much junk mail in my inbox and just figured out why. By posting on BiddingForTravel.com, they got my email address and started lambasting me with Spam.

The following was at the bottom of an advertisement I received.

"You may receive periodic marketing offers from this advertiser through EMSi. Your email address was obtained from EZBoard. We respect your rights and privacy. If you wish to be removed from future EMSi email offers, please click here. For more information, please read our privacy statement and anti-spam policy.
Please do not reply to this message as we cannot respond personally to emails sent to this address."

Yikes, I've posted hotel reviews and regular messages on BFT for years and have gotten no associated spam.

Annonymous, it seemed like all of a sudden I was getting at least 50 ads every day in my mailbox!

One weekend I didn't check my email and when I opened it said I had 343 unread emails!

Yikes! It got me thinking something was wrong.

I use a different email address for each board I have signed up with, and I have yet to get a single spam email message from EZ Board/BFT. I have gotten them from other forums I've signed up with, but not BFT.

So I seriously doubt you are getting spam because you post on BFT.

I would complain to EZBoard - with a copy of the emails - and have them remove you from whatever they did - or find out who's using their name.

Andrew, if you read my original post, I cut and pasted directly from an email I received and it states

"Your email address was obtained from EZBoard."

Why would you doubt this when the advertiser told me they got my email address off EZBoard who hosts BiddingforTravel.com?

I've been a fairly frequent poster at BFT over the past couple of years. About 6 weeks ago, we started getting a horrendous influx of porn/spam. It was disgusting to come down every morning to 5-6-7 or more messages with all sorts of leave-nothing-to-the-imagination titles. Finally, I changed our e-m address - thought it's still a fairly simple one and I recently learned that something more unusual and complex is a better way to avoid the mass spam programs. I've no idea of BFT was the culprit as I don't open anything that looks suspicious - merely delete it. But if it is BFT...then that is really disappointing and annoying. I guess the solution is to re-register with some Yahoo-type mailbox that I don't use for anything else....?
