Beware of United Airlines outrageous requirement regarding on-line credit card purchase

Thanks for taking the time to let us know what happened! I seem to recall a similar situation with United last summer, buying a ticket for my daughter & reading something about needing the credit card. I think I called customer service & was told not to worry about it. Obviously, things have changed so is it the credit card co or United? Doesn't United want you to use their Mileage Plus card? I recently bought a ticket for my daughter on Frontier so I will have to look at the e-ticket receipt to see what it says, if anything. I wonder when companies are going to figure out that outsourcing all their jobs is not going to be in their best interests in the long run. Perhaps you should also send a note to the powers that be in support of the one person who helped you. Betsy
