Beware charging by phone - US Air
Last Thursday, I had a flight scheduled at 5 p.m. I decided to change it for an earlier flight. I asked for different routes, and asked how much it would cost to make the change. I was told there would be a $100 change fee (which I think is ridiculous, but I expected it and was willing to pay it). Today when I checked my Visa, there is not only a $100 change fee, but $73.70 that they claim is for the "fare differential", which they never told me about (I state that absolutely unequivocally). Their records show I was "advised" of the charge. Anyway, just letting you all know to be aware....I'm disputing the charge with Visa, and fortunately, it's not a huge amount of money, but I'm also not willing to pay it since I wasn't advised of it before I decided to make the change.

I know that -- which is why, when I asked more than once "How much will it cost me to make this change?" and the answer was "$100.00", I assumed that was ALL I would be charged. If the answer had been "$100.00 plus the fare differential", I would at least have been making a judgment based on the correct,/i> figure.

I cancelled my non-refundable flight with Southwest, no charge, all money are sitting on my non-refundable account with SouthWest.
For the March flight I've used part of this money, no charge, only whatever the cost was, changed the times, airports, price - all through the website.
Yes, the only problem is your seat. If you check-in 24 hours in advance, you get a good seat in group A, and even before the families with children.
On other airlines, what do you do if they change your sitting?
