Better with Kids - Desert Pearl or Flanigans?

Both of these hotels seem to be priced about the same. Both have mini fridge and micro, pool and hot tub. both look beautiful.

Are there any advantages to one or the other with kids?

Thanks. (We are staying 3 days in the Zion area)

We stayed at the Desert Pearl last year w/two kids. It was absolutely perfect. The rooms are beautiful. We still talk about it. The rooms are not a standard hotel room - they're huge, with wood floors, nicely decorated, free VCR rentals. We would stay there again in a second. We haven't stayed at Flanigans, but Desert Pearl was really nice.

We stayed in a 2BR suite at Flanigan's last year with our two kids and liked the arrangement very much. Thought Desert Pearl would be too upscale for kids (don't like to impose my kids on people trying to get away from their kids!) but maybe would should have tried it. Flanigans pool and hot tub are fine--not huge but did the trick. Liked the spotted dog cafe for dinner. All in all, a good choice.

At the DP, your kids can play in the Virgin River, which is quite calm and shallow right behind the hotel. You can even drag an inner tube upriver a bit and get a couple hundred yards of floating without having to leave the hotel. There is a nice lawn between the river view rooms and the river.

We just got back from two nights at the Desert Pearl as part of our spring break vacation to Scottsdale, Grand Canyon, Zion and SLC. We also loved the Desert Pearl. It is beautifully kept up and the rooms are very spacious. We had 2 queens and a queen sleeper that backed up to the river. The blankets are wrapped top and bottom in sheets and the pillows are very comfy. We slept well. We traveled with 2 kids, 15 and 11 and everyone loved the free movie rentals and mircowave for popcorn making after a long day of exploring Zion. If it had been warmer we would have loved to sit on the deck. In all honesty, this room was bigger and just as nice as our room at the 5 star Fairmont Princess in Scottdale. Also, the shuttle to the park picks up practically right outside the hotel. Have breakfast at Sol Foods right outside the park - wonderful and can take to go.
