Best Restaurant for Mid-Point Meet-up Lunch

Friends are in Weston MA (western suburb of Boston) for the month, we're in NE NJ, ( intersection of 287/80), want to each drive half-way and meet up for lunch in coming few weeks. Seems the environs of Hartford would be approximate midppoint. Can you recommend a convenient to highways, delicious place for such? Looking for relaxing couple hours, not fast food nor along highways per se. We know these roads quite well from ski trips and college kids. Thanks much!!!

I would seriously check to see what restaurants are open and serving lunch. Outdoors. Many in our area have also cut back their days and hours.

Jean, NJ/NY/CT have same parameters for travellers coming from out of state. Socal, of course I'll be checking menus/venues as to outside/inside options.

People from NY and NJ are allowed to travel to CT without quarantine.
Indoor restaurants at 50 pct capacity, outdoor at 100 pct, given the time of year, I would definitely want an outdoor restaurant also if I were going to do this.

Check out the Artisan in West Hartford. They have a really lovely outdoor area. It's not far from I84 or I91.

Yeah, I see California on the list that Jean posted, but not NJ.

I don't have anything useful to add, either.

Suze, I posted it in "Connecticut" and that's where it seems to be, no? Yum, Artisan sounds perfect, little further drive from down here, but we'll see, the garden especially sounds inviting. Will let you know. And ditto for the Fork & Fire recommendation above. Old gal pal suggested Viron Rondo Osteria in Cheshire, but am disinclined for Italian, too many excellent BYOB Italian here in Jersey.

P.S. to JanisJ, nah, you Californians have some of our favorite food. Years ago, we used to love to frequent Kemosabe down in Hillcrest in SD, then she opened other venue, and now just dont get down there that much. Our Californians departed yesterday for their 3000 mi ride in a Class A -- what shall they find upon their return?? Their numbers have been very low in Encinitas/Carlsbad/Olivenhain, but who knows now........ things changed alot this month.
