Best Place To View Halloween Parade NYC?

Where is the best place to view the Halloween parade in Manhattan? Dinner reservations at 10PM at Gramercy Tavern so plenty of time to watch.

Suggestions for cocktail in the area between GT and the parade?

Lots of places - I love around 6th Avenue and 9th Street, by the Jefferson Market Library - they hang a huge spider and web around the gothic tower - always looks great. The local TV trucks broadcast from there and people/bands dance troupes always stop and perform for the camera. Down by Houston and 6th can be great, too. It's a very wild night, and this year will be especially crazy, since it's a Friday.

Try to stay east of 6th Avenue because it's hard to cross the parade - that's only allowed at certain streets. We live on 15th between 6th and 7th, our block is always closed and we have to prove residency to get home!

A fun place to have a drink might be Boqueria on 19th between 5th and 6th - but it will probably be packed. Good tapas and great people watching, tho.

Thanks for the tips!

Figured as much about staying on the east side of the street but nice to have it confirmed!

Thanks Andrew! My running partner is injured so I've taken that as an excuse to cut back on my running! Cardio only now and I'm a happy camper!

I'm so glad your happy these days. Sounds like you're going to be in peak form going into the race.

If this is your first time to the Halloween Parade, it's going to be something you won't forget

Any other tips?

I'll be staying in Murray Hill so I figured I'd take the Lex line down to Union Square and walk over to Sixth Avenue.
