Best Mayo Clinic-accessible hotel in Rochester, MN?
Mom's thinking of visiting the Mayo Clinic and asked me to look into travel arrangements. I'd appreciate recommendations as to the nicest - or your favorite - hotel that is walkway-accessible to MC. Some reviews seem to indicate that a few of them are a bit shabby, and I don't want to steer her wrong.

We have stayed at the Radisson Plaza when going to Mayo a few times and it has been nice. It is close to the clinic but they will also drive you there or to any of the hospitals. The Marriott is great but wanted to give you another alternative.

Depends on which building(s) she'll be visiting within the Clinic as the walk (all indoors if so desired) is quite long from one end of the complex of buildings to the other.
The newer Kahler (Kahler Plaza) is closest to the main Clinic buildings.
The Radisson and Marriott are connected, but farther. I'd avoid the original Kahler (unless they've done some major upgrading in the past few years).
There are a boatload of very mediocre to motel-ish hotels in Rochester. The three above are all predictable and reasonable.

Post trip report:
Mother chose the Kahler Grand Hotel, where we got a "Mayo patient rate" of $79 for a twin room. It was very nice! After all I'd read, I was expecting something drab or shabby, but it wasn't at all like that, from the lobby to the room to the fitness facility on the 11th floor (treadmills, exercise bike, weights, swimming pool and hot tub). The employees were helpful and friendly, especially at the Grand Grill restaurant, where they know how to deal with the dietary requirements of Mayo patients going in for various tests.
Overall, we were quite pleased with the hotel.
