you have helped me so far .. so.. what is easiest/cheapest solution to leave a car near the inner harbor area.. or a self park train stop .

i am coming from PHL, meeting family eventually at renaissance hotel ( but i can change meeting place to a restaurant if i prefer).

i will not need the car until we go to BWI later that evening.

I will need to park from 3-4 pm until we get tired, probably around 8pm or so.

any ideas? a nice walk for me is NO problem.

I have had no problems parking on the streets a few blocks away from the main drag. Weekends are even easier to find street parking.

Be very careful with on street parking. Most neighborhoods have limited time parking and no parking after 7:00. Also, if the O's are playing, there is an increase in fines and even a possible tow.

West Street parking garage in Federal Hill on South side of harbor, is pretty cheap and you could have dinner at one of our great restaurants.

Not sure your budget or taste, but Blue Agave is an upscale and excellent Mexican restaurant..certainly not "run of the mill". Corks is excellent and $$ with a marvelous wine list. Jr's Wine bar is a popular neighborhood spot, although alittle noisy if you are seated next to bar. Thai Arroy is good and simple(not $). Ten o Six is a very popular Thai ..more upscale. One of our favorites is Regis American Bistro, good menu with lots of seafood..like macaroni with lobster,crab cakes, also good steaks etc. Nice and casual with outdoor seating and great owner and staff. Look in Baltimore restaurants -federal Hill for those and other ideas. Also lots of locals and not filled with "touristas"!

That's good advice from polaris. One other option is to park in Little Italy, which is located just east of the Inner Harbor, generally east of President Street to Central Ave, south of Pratt Street. There are several surface parking lots in Little Italy, and if you want to go a little farther there is a garage at Bank Street and Central Ave on the eastern edge of the neighborhood. If you park there, you can walk through Little Italy, and make your way a block or two south to Eastern Ave, and continue east toward the Harbor. Once you pass President Street, you'll go over a series of pedestrian bridges across the piers & past the National Aquarium to the Harbor. If you like italian, there are plenty of options in Little Italy. One that I like is La Tavola, at Albermarle and Fawn Streets. You can also get some good desserts, & great gelato, at Vaccaro's, also on Albermarle, at Stiles.

We have always enjoyed Tio Pepe's for their Spanish style fish dishes and in Fells Point, John Steven's.
