best drink with a view NYC Manhattan?

Last request, i promise.

If you were to do this only ONE evening.. would you cross the river to river café, or just have a drink somewhere else???

Have never been to river café.
went to the marriot marquis years ago..

we do not need a CLUB and dancing necessarily, but a nice view with a drink one night would be great way to say goodbye to new york.

all your suggestions til now have been great.. on the food, etc.

i cannot tell you how much i appreciate all the help i have always had for my trips.

and we can't get any of you to a getogether in valencia!!!!!

The Rainbow Grille at the top of Rockefeller Center or the rooftop of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The PennTop at The Penninsula is also supposed to be great. I don't think the view is as good at The Shelburne Murray Hill.

Another vote for the Battery Park Ritz's Rise or the ever-popular midtown Pentop.

I second the Rainbow Grill. However, If you take the ferry or path across the Hudson, there are a couple of trendy bars on the water with the entire view of Manhattan. Check out Trinity, The Quoys, 340 Grill www.hobokenx.com www.hobokeni.com

Have to say, take the comp. ferry over to the Water's Edge in Long Island City and sit outside on the deck, right on the water (East River) with a drink and some apps. for the BEST view of Manhattan. We love doing that after work on nice evenings...

Another vote for Rise Bar at Ritz in Battery Park. Evening view to the Ferry and Statue of Liberty is breathtaking.

Problem with Rise is that (at least every time I have been there) it's usually pretty empty! I'd go for something on the water with a full view of the city as opposed to the other way around.

Are there any suggestion for the same thing, but have in mind we are two adults and two young adults. (17 & 19) Is there a bar we can go to for an early evening drink to enjoy the view, where we wont feel out of place? I know the teenagers can't have a drink (much to the 19yr olds disappointment, she can drink in Aus.) but atmosphere and view can stil be enjoyed. Thanks

The Broadway Bar in the Marriott Marquis in Times Square will knock your kids socks off with the view.
