I noticed someone else planning their mom's 50th. Mine is coming up in one year. I would love to go to a beautiful, exotic beach with my family--if money is no object (just dreaming here), where should I go?

If money is no object, I'd look into Fiji (I've been there and it's beautiful) or the Seychelles or Maldives.

By far the best I've ever found is Amanpulo in the Philippines. It is a totally private island with only 42 villas and a first class restaurant. You can walk around the island on the beach in an hour. Sailing, fishing, snorkeling (from the beach), scuba diving, bonfire dinner on the beach at night and mainly total relaxation and privacy. The pictures on their website are absolutely accurate.

Joan, you can take Anguilla OFF that list. While there are some nice hotels there, the island is ABYSMAL looking!!
