Best BBQ in Memphis??

Will be passing through Memphis around lunchtime, so first thing is that the place needs to be open for lunch.....

Best ribs????? Wet and Spicy? Dry and Spicy?

Keep hearing about the Rendezvous and Corky'the most......... I have also heard about the Interstate and Leonards....

The Rendezvous is only open for lunch on Friday during the week...not sure which day you'll be here. It's a good, fun choice for dry Memphis ribs and great atmosphere....if you're more interested in BBQ pork sandwiches, I'd go for Interstate BBQ on South Third (just off I-55) or Corky's...however, there are lots of other great choices --Cozy Corner, Neely's, Leonard's, BBQ Shop and on and on...but if it's your first time, go with the Rendezvous if you can and order a sausage and cheese plate to go with the complimentary red beans and rice and veteran waiters.....

Which Corky's is the best location? I keep hearing about the original, where is that? Would love to try Rendezvous, but think we'll miss out, not open on the days we'll be there.

sorry to hear you'll miss the rendezvous (assume you'll be in memphis on a Mon/Tues when they're closed)...it's the most fun....the main corky's is at 5259 Poplar in east memphis...good ribs/bbq just like the other bbq restaurants mentioned....all worth trying....try an onion loaf for an appetizer if you goto corky's and like onion rings.....have fun....

If you are "Passing through" you must be driving. Corky's is the easiest to get to.
From I240 get off at Poplar going west. It will be about 2 lights down on the Left (south) side. Enjoy. We love the Killer. you get ribs and BBQ. It is enought to share. Get a 1/2 loaf of Onion rings and save room for Corky's fudge pie.
It will be memorable!

My favorite is Neely's, but I keep hearing about Cozy Corner, so I guess I'm going to have to try it.

Corky's on the other hand... that'd be a "no" from me. Wish it was better - live a mile from one and work a mile from the original. But just don't like the taste of the meat (the sauce and/or spices is fine). Seems like it used to be better.
