Belvedere Hotel

My fiance and I are considering stay at the Belvedere Hotel in NYC on 48th Street the first week in July for our honeymoon. Is this a nice/clean hotel? Safe area?

Thanks!

Most people have been satisfied with it. It is a basic sort of hotel, but is generally clean and functional. The best comparison I can make is that it is like staying in a big Motel 6 in the city.

I have stayed there. It is only a basic hotel. I would think something more upscale for a honeymoon.

Thanks for the help! I searched "Belvedere" and read all the great reviews! My fiance and I don't need a suite or anything because we'll mostly be out in the city doing stuff...the room is mainly for sleeping and fun *wink wink* Looks like we will definitely be staying there!

Stayed at the Belvedere Hotel in March and will be staying there again in two weeks. The room is more like a Holiday Inn, large with two queen size beds; clean with a good size bathroom; and we love having a kitchenette. The location is great for you are near all the Broadway Theaters; many restaurants on 9th. Ave. and Restaurant Row on 46th., and you are not far from the subway and buses. For the price we feel it is great. We have in the past stayed at 4 star hotels such as the Waldorf and Algonquin but I agree that we spend little time in the room and now spend the extra money on seeing four Broadway shows and eating at different restaurants.

Hi,
Stayed there in MArch and am going back to it in two weeks. I was very happy with the hotel. The rate was good (129 incl. breakfast) and the location is very good. I have stayed in Holiday Inns in Europe and America and I think that the Belvedere was far nicer than any of the H.I 's . To say it's basic or functional is a bit harsh. Compared to other NY hotels I've stayed in (Milford plaza-what a dump!; Best Western-pretty crap too), this was far better.. Have a good time

Hello,
I stayed in the Belvedere with my mom and grandmother last February. It is a very nice hotel-yes, it is clean & safe. I was pleased with it. Its right in the theater district near times square. If you like that touristy area then you should be pleased. I only stayed there b/c I was with my mom and grandmother and we had tickets to a show and they wanted to see Madame Toussaud's Wax Museum. Usually, however, when I go to the city I prefer to stay in Soho and I don't even hit times square...or I'll stay in the upper East Side near the park.
