Bellagio or the Venetian
My husband and I are taking our son who just turned 21 to Vegas . Should we stay at the Bellagio or the Venetian? I s "O" worth seeing? What about the impersonator, Danny Gantz? Any other suggestions for us, we are going May 12 for 4 nights?

Bellagio has a better location, better restaurants, better pools, and better casino. The rooms have better quality furnishings and bathrooms.
Venetian has larger rooms and more casual dining options (mall-type food court included) but lacks the more refined atmosphere of Bellagio. Venetian is more glitzy and Vegas-y in its presentation than Bellagio, but not tacky (by Las Vegas standards, anyway).
For some, the extra 150 sq ft per standard room at Venetian are important enough that all the other issues pale by comparison.
"O" is the top show in LV and has been since it opened. 'Nuff said.
Danny Gans is very good, but you need to get seats close to the front to fully appreciate his facial expressions and such.

Hi
I hope this works
Since these questions are asked so often, I typed Bellagio into the text search and found MANY threads that might help you. One of these is about "O" and the other is about Danny Gans and entertainment in general in Las Vegas.
Personally:
I try not to stay anywhere else but the Bellagio.
We enjoyed "O" but liked Mystere better.
We have seen Danny Gans twice and think he is amazing.
Hope this helps~Scarlett

Well, I think that I still have some ways to go when it comes to the internet and cutting and pasting. Sorry if these links do not work, but type Bellagio or O or Danny Gans into the text search box and you will get plenty of info!

O is worth seeing but you may come away from it being slightly disappointed. Tix are hard to get, too. YOu may want to try Mysterie at TI, not far from Bellagio. The Bellagio is nice, but i have to tell you that my wife and i came away less than overwhelmed by it. We have had a much better experience at mandalay bay for example. much less crowded because it's at the end of the strip, but for a 21 yo guy i want to tell you that the beach at Mandalay Bay's pool is unbelievable. you might not get him away from there, and there is a river that you can float on, too. anyway, if it is just between Bellagio and Venitian, i guess i'd go for Venetian. Venetian is nice, but as another poster said, feels like a mall. The Mme. Taussad wax museum is there, and that's a fun exhibit.
Other suggestions if you have a car, go to In-n-out burger just off strip near Rio (assuming you're not from LA). He'll love a 3x3 animal style. another suggestion that is frequently overlooked is second city comedy in the flamingo. its not too expensive and the acts are frequently outrageously funny.
A great resto in Bally's, Al Dente, serves home made pastas. Also in Paris, across the street, is Mon Ami Gabi, much better for lunch. Steak Frites, great beer, great people watching.
Do the "Dam Tour" if you've never done it before.
Also fun for a 21 yo is ATV'ing in the desert. there are companies that pick up and drop off at the hotel and go out in the desert for 1/2 day on a guided tour.
If you're an active family, 17 miles west of the strip is Red Rock Canyon park -- hiking and running trails. best to go early in the am or in eve for a nice run or hike.
I've never seen Danny Ganz, but i have heard that he's truly an amazing impersonator.

While Bellagio and Venetian are both lovely hotels, I don't know if they make much sense for a recently-turned-21-year-old guy. I know, I know, depends on the guy, but if you want to give him a great trip, stay at Hard Rock, which is a hotel FULL of gorgeous 20-somethings. Great pool, good bars, he would be able to go out after you and hubby fall asleep and have a fun time. Mandalay Bay also has a fun nightlife and great pool area.
If his tastes run to the more subdued and high-class, then Bellagio or Venetian by all means. But come on, he just turned 21!

If you're going for yourself, just taking your son along then Bellagio or Venetian may be appropriate. If you're doing it for him don't stay in these older-age-oriented hotels. If Hard Rock is too much for you then compromise on something in-between. For example, my son loved Paris.
