Bed and Breakfast Guides
I've been perusing Bed and Breakfast guides, planning a trip "somewhere" in the lower 48.
Do you fodorites have an opinion as to which B&B guide is most reliable and comprehensive?
Thanks in advance.

Hi gc,
As the owner of a B&B myself, here's my two cents worth. I don't think there are many B&B guide books that are going to give you a non-biased review of inns. Many guidebooks ask the innkeepers to send the information in or copy it from another place. I have my B&B reviewed in a few guidebooks that I am pretty sure no one from there visited my place. The only guidebooks that ever visited were AAA & Fodor's, and they are not specific to B&B's I also think the best way is to go online and look at www.bbonline.com You won't get an unbiased opinion, but typically you will have a link to a website which should show you alot about the inn. Look for LOTS of photo's, usually a sign of nothing to hide. DON"T stay in a room you can't see a photo of. Also, in this day and age, an unsophisticated web site may be a clue that the inn is not the most well run. Also, you may want to check into local guilds, as they usually have minimum requirments of the member inn. Good luck, and enjoy

Hi gc,
I don't want to get in trouble for "advertising" my place, but I guess it's ok since you asked. My inn is Alma de Sedona Inn, and web is www.almadesedona.com
I also love to stay in B&B's and am currently planning a trip, using lot of web resources.
