Beachfront Cottage-West Maui-A Dream?

Looking for that special cottage for two on the beach in West Maui.
I have seen most of the VRBO listings which mostly seem to be condos. Any recommendation for different websites or agencies would be appreciated.

There are beachfront homes for rent in south Maui, but west Maui is so heavily developed with condos, that I can't even think of a beachfron house (far less a cottage) for rent there, unless it would be in Lahaina.

What is your price range?

There are some oceanfront homes in the Napili area without beaches. Very expensive. There are a few very pricey beachfront homes in Kapalua. Not sure if any of them are rentals though. If they are, expect to pay $2000 a night or more.
There is a beach house in Olowalu, which is south of Lahaina that used to rent for around $1000 a night. Not sure if it still available.

We rented a cottage in Makena, south of Wailea that was oceanfront and a very short (2 minute) walk to the beach at the Maui Prince. We loved it. Even though is was a very modest home, it was still expensive at $500 a night.

Was hoping to keep it around $450 a night if I searched for one or two bedroom.
Perhaps that is a dream after all!

There are beachfront cottages (but no kitchen, only concierge service) at the Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore of Oahu that do meet your financial criteria (depending on your dates) but food would likely be pricey.

Also, there are some oceanfront (but not beachfront) vacation rentals in other parts of Maui such as the Bali Cottage at the Cliff's Edge (cliffsedge.com)in Huelo. Or in Hana, there is the Hana Oceanfront Cottages by Hamoa Beach and not beachfront, but really nice are the Guest Houses at Malanai (hanaguesthouses.com) & the Hana Sunrise House (hanasunrise.com). There is also the Hotel Hana Maui which has individual cottages & has specials that meet your criteria, but no cooking facilities, so again, food costs would be higher. The Inn at Mamas near Paia(mamasfishhouse.com) has cottages & a small beach area, but no swimming there.
