beach parking at kanapali? help!
we know that the sheraton has 18 spots available. these get filled-up fast. does anyone know if any of the other kanapali hotels make spots available? if so, which hotels? if not, what is the cheapest way to park? the mall is $10 but says "no beach parking". what's up with that?

Hotels will allow anyone to use their valet parking, it will just cost you to do so. Sheraton, Westin etc. You can check the prices out at their website, but I think it ran about $15 back in October.

I don't know where they are, but keep in mind if you can find out about them, so will everyone else. And don't waste your precious beach time driving around trying to find them as they will likely be gone fast. Spring for the $$ and do the valet parking. It's only money and you're on vacation

When are you going? When we went there was no one parked in the free beach access parkingexcept us and some local guys who were going spear fishing.
At the Hyatt there is some parking but it's all the way in the back and I don't know if I can adequately explain how to get there. It's just outside the parking garage area.
At whalers village you can get 3 hours of free parking with validation meaning you need to buy something. There are a bunch of ABC stores, some food places. Would you be using any of those?

Our parking experience from Feb'07 (Presidents Day week, so probably worst-case scenario):
Sheraton parking garage is $20 for the day. We parked at Whaler's once, went to the beach, got lunch there and got validated, then exited, went back in, got water and stuff at Whalers Gen Store, and validated again.
The other two days we were at Ka'anapali, we lucked into spots at the free beach access parking in the Sheraton garage! So that's not bad -- 2 out of 3 days during one of the busiest weeks of the year.
BTW, we're never staying at Kapalua in the winter again. Can't believe our friends talked us into that. Weather was so windy, cold, and rainy most days that we ended up driving down to Ka'anapali or other places south!
