BBQ bests-Lockhart and Luling, Salt Lick? Sunday Hours?

Hi, will be traveling to San Antonio and Austin in May and will have a Sunday free to try out some great BBQ ! Having a hard time finding the hours for some of these popular BBQ places.

Does anyone know if City Market in Luling is open on Sundays as well as Kreuz and Smitty's in Lockhart TX? I think Black's in Lockhart is open Sundays, but are they as good as Kreuz and Smitty's? Anyone been to Salt Lick in Driftwood TX (near Austin)? I've been hearing good things about that place.

Thank you!

I am partial to Black's for the jalapeno sausage - Salt Lick is ok but is better for the atmosphere.

Here's another thumbs down for Salt Lick. I lived in Austin for several years and would go with friends because they wanted to, but I never did like the BBQ there (and especially not the sides). Agree the atmosphere can be pleasant, but you can't eat atmosphere.

If you do go to Salt Lick, be sure you take cash. They don't accept credit cards.

That is the Luling City Market in Houston . . it is a split off from the original . . the result of a family split.
