Babysitting on the big Island?
This summer I am going to Hawaii to get married. (Techinically renewing my vows, shot gun wedding ya know.) I am going to bring my daughter who is going to 19 months old at the time and I was hoping some people might know of a good babysitting referral agency on the Big Island around Kona. My Mom is going to be there and some other family, so I am sure we will have pleanty of offers, but at night she goes to bed at 7 and I want to be able to go out with my husband and family. After all it is my Mom's vacation too. Any suggestions?
Also she will be riding on our lap on the the plane, any suggestion for keeping toddlers entertained??
Thanks!

Just adding my $.02 about carring your child on your lap in the aircraft. You really should consider purchasing a seat and securing your daughter in an approved car seat. Ask yourself, would you drive down the Freeway doing that? If not consider that the airplane is travelling at almost 10 times that speed and if you encounter turbulance your child could easily become a flying projectile if she is not properly restrained. For the safety of your child please get her her own seat.

Here's a thread on babysitters in Hawaii. Good reading and input -

And here's a thread with opinions on whether or not to buy a seat for your child.

Happy reading. There is much more info on this board. Just type in a keyword in the search box and read away!
My two cents - Hawaii is a long flight and usually uncomfortable. VERY uncomfortable without a seat for a 19 month old.
