B&B advice re New York, please!
On another thread, "Mclaurie" had put me on to the idea of utilizing a "B&B" while in NY which might offer a bit more room for our needs (just my husband and myself). She had recommended West 11th Historic Townhouse Apts. (Greenwich Village) which look very nice. I stumbled up Inn on 23rd Street (Chelsea) which also looks quite appealing.
Has anyone stayed at either place? If so, please share a review. Also, does anyone have any other suggestions along the same lines? Both of these places appear to be very near subway access, which would be important to us as we won't be driving. Walking is no problem, but we've not been to NY and want to see as much as we can in the 8-10 days that we are planning for a stay; this being in October, 2011 or thereabouts.
Thanks for any info.....

There is a small but grwing number of B&Bs in NYC - you might also consider looking at some of the hotels that have suites if you want more room. Have a look at the Beacon on the upper west sie or one of the affinia group.
Having a car in NYC is a comlete nonsense - there is no place to park - ever. And most B&Bs or hotels are close to a subway - unless you stay someplace on the far east side.

There are reviews of b & b's on tripadvisor.com Just remember most of these (if not all) won't have elevators.
gvhabitue.com
abingdonguesthouse.com
are some others in Greenwich Village.
www.wymanhouse.com is on the upper west side as is countryinnthecity.com
There are some very nice suite hotels worth considering too. I mentioned the Beacon on your other thread (which doesn't appear as nice as it is on their own website). You might have a look on oyster.com which has many more photos. The San Carlos, the Kimberly, the Affinia Gardens and the Benjamin are some other nice ones.
