AZ weather in Oct. ?

We will be in Arizona early October. First stop is to Canyon de Chelly for 1-2 days , and then to Sedona for 4-5 days.
What kind of weather is typical for this time ? Does it get quite chilly in evenings ? Rain or mostly sunny ?
We are flying in from the East Coast, so it takes more planning to pack clothes.
Thanks for your help !

We've been in Arizona in early October and had warm sunny days with a thunderstorm that came and went. Nights did get cooler.

I highly recommend taking the Thunderbird Lodge guided tour into Canyon de Chelly.

Early Oct is usually one of the best times of the year with clear, warm (sometimes hot in the Phoenix area) weather.

Like most anyplace, there is always the chance that a big storm will roll in and dump a couple of inches of rain, but it is a very small chance.

After the sun goes down, it does cool off rather quickly, but a light jacket is plenty

I was in PHx in oct 2 years ago, it was 80-90 and it rained on a few days, but it never rained the whole day it was only for like 30 min (of HEAVY rain) but then it would stop. It was cold at night in southern Az.
