Atomic Testing Museum Directions?
I'll be staying at the Fremont, and I am looking for info as to the best way to get to the Atomic Museum. Can I take the monorail to the Flamingo or Bally's station, and walk from there? Does anyone know how long a walk it would be? Or is there a better way? I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

You didn't say whether you will have a car or not.
First, the monorail does not run to the downtown area where your hotel is located. Second, the museum is too far from the strip to walk.
If you don't have a car, I would suggest you take the strip bus to the Caesars/Flamingo/Bellagio/Ballys area. Then, grab a taxi from Ballys to the museum...should be less than 5 bucks. Be sure not to get your taxi from the other hotels as you will watch the meter tick as the driver tries to cross strip traffic. You could also take an eastbound bus down Flamingo from Ballys. Ask the folks at Ballys for directions and bus number.

Thanks, vegaslocal. I don't have a car. I was planning on taking the 108 to the Sahara monorail station, and then taking the monorail to do my "stripping," so to speak... In the past I have taken the bus to go down to the strip but I thought the monorail might be less crowded. I guess my main problem is that when I want to go back to the Fremont, the bus is so crowded heading to the downtown area. It is hard to stand without falling over. So, does taking the 108 to the Sahara make sense?
Thanks for the suggestion about the cab--sounds like a plan since I really want to see the museum.

I don't know which bus the 108 is, because I don't ride the buses. But if you intend to use the monorail several times over the course of your day, it seems like a fine idea.
There is an eastbound Flamingo bus that would go there too I assume, if you don't mind waiting for it. You'd want to catch it on the south side of Flamingo (the Ballys side). Perhaps you could get a transfer when you board the 108.
Yes, you could walk it, but it would be a waste of your time as there is nothing to see and the cost of the cab ride would be very low. If you want a good workout, get out and walk the strip in the morning where there is more to see.
