Atlanta Downtown/Midtown Hotel

A friend will be in Atlanta next weekend attending a conference at the Philips Center. She is looking at 4 different Marriott hotels where she can use points:

Renaissance Downtown
Residence Inn Midtown/Historic
Courtyard Midtown/Georgia Tech
Residence Inn Midtown/17th St

Does anyone know anything about these hotels? I see mixed reviews on all of them on Trip Advisor. She wants to make sure it's in a safe location and close to a Marta station.

Thanks for any assistance.

I like the location of the Residence Inn Midtown/17th St. best, and it's pretty close to the Arts Center MARTA station. It also gets the best reviews on TA of those four.

The Residence Inn is closest to the Philips Center. Walking distance during safe hours.

The Renaissance is a nice hotel. Close to the Marta station. An easy walk during safe hours.

No part of downtown or midtown Atlanta is safe walking around at times. At either hotel, your friend should not be out by herself after dark.

Thanks for your feedback.

The conference she is going to is sold out so we imagine there will be a lot of other women walking or on Marta at the same time.
