There are many, although the prices do climb a bit in season. Have enjoyed the Albermarle, whose prices are below $200 for certain rooms or on certain days of the week or certain months. Their breakfast is amazing, and location is nice, walkable distance to Grove Park Inn (where you should have a drink on the terrace but not stay there) and not too far from downtown (not walkable, though).

Oakland Cottage B&B in Asheville (where I work) - has very reasonable rates - rates till April 3 range from $80 to $135 double occupancy and include breakfast of course and many other amenities as well. The location is great - 2 miles south of Pack Square and 1.5 miles north of Biltmore Village. High season rates are $100 - $150. There are 3 Suites - great for folks traveling with friends or an extra family member or two - and two rooms, the rooms are the lower priced units. Visit the website at www.OaklandCottage.com. The owners are avid cyclists, so know a ton about bicycling along the Blue Ridge Parkway, the area, and are very cyclist friendly... hope to hear from you!

If you are interested in being within walking distance to downtown I would check out any of the B&B's in the Montford District. A beautiful historic district with many B&B's and as I said, walkable to downtown.

Yes, Oakland Cottage B&B is a wonderful value, www.oaklandcottage.com, and for those with a bit more independent spirit, check out the Vacation Rentals managed by the same folks, www.VacationInAsheville.com. BreakAway Cabin is about 10 miles north and really cute - on a creek with views and great amenities (WIFI, AC, full kitchen W/D, FP, gas grill on deck, etc.) and pet friendly. Another great way to hang out in the Asheville Area!

Friends stayed here and loved it. There's only one room at that rate though -

We had a wonderful stay at Richmond Hill Inn a few years ago. It's mostly above your price range except that their website says they're running a 50% off special for November and December, if that's when you're looking at going:

Had a great stay this summer @ Chestnut Street Inn and it's walkable (~15-20min) to downtown.
