Art Show In Red Hook Starting May 8
The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) will hold its 18th Annual Spring Art Show in Red Hook, weekends, starting May 8 through June 13. 1-6 PM at 499 Van Brunt Street. The Show is entitled "Nailed" and will feature over 200 artists of all visual media.
We are a not for profit organization and 99% of the work is done by the volunteer/members.
The exhibit itself is in a Civil War era warehouse with sweeping views of New York Harbor including the Statute of Liberty. Across the street are derelict Brooklyn trolleys next to Fairways. It is a fabulous place to show and visit.
My wife, a sister-in-law, and myself will be showing and there opening day May 8. I am supposed to be at panel 143 although they might move me but my wife will be at panel 149.
Directions
By Transit: Both the B77 (G and F train to Smith/9th) and the B61 (A and F train to Jay Street) buses go to Van Brunt & Beard stop.
Approximately 10 minutes by car from the brooklyn bridge: Brooklyn Bridge becomes Adams Street. Make a right on to Atlantic Avenue, left on to Columbia Street, right on to DeGraw. Left on to Van Brunt and continue on Van Brunt to end.
From Brooklyn: Northwest on Hamilton Avenue and make a left on to Van Brunt. Continue on Van Brunt to end
(You can also take the IKEA ferry free at Wall Street. on weekends and then walk over to the warehouse across the inlet. )
