Anyone used StussersLimos NY?

Anyone used Stussers Limos NY? I have a price for 6 of us with luggage,w ait time, tolls and tax in October. It seems reasonable, but not sure how to equate cost to 2 taxi cabs (as we'd need for 6). It's 4 journeys all in all and includes everything, they seem to have a good reputation - any ideas?

Assuming you are speaking of New York City, I've only used Tel-Aviv and Carmel.

The car service should only be a couple of dollars more than a cab.

Which airport are you flying in and out of and what is your quote?

Have never heard of them - and wouldn;t do limos at all - but go for a car service (make sure they're not giving you/charging you for real limos rather than just sedans or a minivan). And without knowing which airport and where you're going to/fro it's hard to know what a reasonable rate is.

THE JOURNEY LEGS ARE (FOR 6 ADULTS)all legs include meet & greet, wait time, tolls, and tips - so complete price. Plus complimentary bar, reall limo and all that goes with it?

1) pick up at JFK and taken to downtown manhatten hotel - $190

2) downtown hotel to Cape Liberty cruise terminal N Jersey $160

3) New Jersey C Terminal to Upper West Hotel $160

4) Finally, Upper West to JFK - $180

They will also thrown in a bottle of cahmpagne if we book all legs?

What do you think - that works out aboy £700 between 6 of us?

It sounds far too high to me. Buy your own Champagne and use another company with two cars if you have to. There are many, many companies in addition to the popular Carmel and Tel Aviv. When I have used Carmel, they did not come into the terminal to meet me, but asked that I call their number when I arrived and they then gave me the car number which I looked for in a pre-arranged spot outside. To have someone come into the terminal with a sign would cost more, I would think. How did you find Stussers?

$190 from JFK to Manhattan?

Rip off.

Call Carmel or Tel-Aviv. Even TWO town cars should not be more than $120 with tolls, tax, and tip.

Hey, if money is no object, why not?

But you could do much much better in terms of cost.

If cost is a factor, have you called 212-777-7777?

Bar? Champagne? You plan to get drunk driving from the airport to your hotel? Seriously, the whole bar/booze thing sounds great, but does it really matter?

This sounds like a prom night package. If that's what you want - fine.

But you can do 2 cabs from JFK to midtown including toll and nice tip for $115-$120.

If you call a regular car service and get a van it will be significantly less than that.

Unless money is no object I would save the money for something that matters a lot more - like a decent restaurant.

Thanks for the comments - and money is important to us. I just didn't know if this was a good deal compared with 2 cars. The site has great customer reviews by the way.

We live in UK so names of recommended companies/websites would be great - if you could name the best minivans which would take 6 of us? thanks

a couple of contacts are

dial7.com
carmelcarservice.com

You will probably need some sort of van. If it is substantially more than $115/$120 (including tip and toll) I would then get 2 sedans - or just grab a couple of cabs.

Sorry - if they quote without tip and tolls the price should be $90 or less. Toll depends on how they get into the city (from 0 to $5.00) and tip should be no less than 15% of the fare without toll. (In NYC cabs are tipped 15-20% but no less than $1 - same for restaurants - with the higher number more usual for better places.)

I am curious: Which site had customer reviews of car services? I would like to check this for my own use. Thanks!

It was customer feedback on their own website.

By the way I meant $700 for the 4 legs of the journey (not £700 typo?).

What time is your arrival at JFK? I have never had a problem getting a cab there; I would just wait and get two cabs when you arrive. Then once you are in the city, you can call around and check prices for the other legs of the journey. The company I use for trips in the city is Allen but I doubt if they have a web site; another with a web site is Gothamlimo. There are literally hundreds of companies. You really do not need a limo. I would guess that some of the larger car companies such as Carmel would have vans that would be better priced than Stussers limo. I will try to ask around and get some more info for you, which I will post here. Is Stussers asking for money up front, by any chance?

This is nuts. Sorry I haven't read all the responses you got. I know that Crown limo will do JFK to NYC transfers in a stretch limo for 6 with luggage for less than either Carmel or Tel Aviv will charge for a minivan, their solution to transporting 6 plus luggage. Ask them for a quote.

You don't need their bottle of champagne! If you must, buy your own.

Hi

Any advise for me. My mother and 3 sisters and myself are arriving in newark on a friday at 11.30am. As there are 5 of us going to a hotel on 7th Ave and 53rd street people tell me a taxi is not a good idea. The trip is for my mothers 70th birthday so I would like to do the limo fom the airport in, as a treat for her On the way back to the airport im happy to do whatevers the easiest and cheapest.

Thanks

coletteti, I would give the same advice I gave above, use Crown with a stretch limo for 6.
