Anyone stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, CT recently?

I'm trying to find a nice hotel in the Fairfield County/Westchester County area for a friend of mine who will be visiting in August. I'm having difficulty finding one with nice, clean, newly renovated rooms that also offers room service. The Tripadvisor reviews of a lot of the hotels in the area make me nervous. Has anybody stayed at this Hyatt recently? Can anyone make a recommendation for this hotel or another in the area?

Thank you very much!

I haven't had a great experience at any of the old Hyatt "atrium" hotels.

However, I don't understand why you trust opinions stated on Fodors more than on TripAdvisor. I, and many others I'm sure, post on both sites.

Some of the reviews of the Hyatt on Tripadvisor are favorable. Others are not. Since i can't probe the trip advisor reviewers with more specific questions, I thought I'd post the details of what i'm looking for here.

I stayed at this Hyatt at the end of April and liked it a lot. The atrium was nice. There were a lot of seating areas with comfortable chairs around the bar area. The rooms were an average size, clean, and had nice bedding. We ordered from room service and had no problems. We also had breakfast at the restaurant in the atrium and it was good.Coffee is also put out on each floor at 6am. My only complaint is the gym, which had old equipment. The pool is also small and had a lot of kids in it when we were there. There is a hot tub as well. I would definitely feel comfortable recommending this hotel.

My parents stay here when they visit, as does my mother-in-law. It's fine. Nothing fancy, but very convenient, if you need to be in the Greenwich area. (The hotel is actually in Old Greenwich, on the Post Road, near the Stamford line, between exits 5 & 6 of I-95). There are other places in town- they are more expensive (their restaurants and ambience are better, but the rooms and service are not much of an improvement). Just don't let them put your friend in a room that is easily converted to a conference room, which has a bizzare layou!
