I hope someone replies because I am interested in it as well. My understanding is no more than 2 guests may stay in a room.

Pianogirl, I checked out reviews for Marina Dunes on tripadvisor.com and they are mixed. I am hoping to get some responses here on Fodors.

We stayed at the Marina Dunes about three summers ago with our two children and found it to be the perfect ocean front retreat... the property is a grouping of about two dozen bungalows with 4 units per building (we rented an upper double of two adjoining suites for about $600). The rooms were spectacular with two ocean view porches each with its own softub jacuzzi. We also got the use of our own golf cart for the stay to run back and forth to the main buildings and parking area. There is also a spa and pool area that we did not take advantage of because of the kids but they looked perfect for couples...because of the layout of the
property, this is the perfect place for a getaway...

the resort is adjacent to a state park nature preserve with miles of wide uncrowded beach for walking...keep in mind that this is a windy area at times and not a laydown beach... we spent hours on the beach with the kids flying kites and running up and down the dunes...

There is a major western themed steakhouse on the property and a few chain hotels (Super 8 and Best Western come to mind) across the street from the
resort, but it is a very quiet, remote area...

We only had one problem during our stay... because the bungalows are separate buildings and they replace the jacuzzi water for each guest stay, there was a shortage of hot water for our showers... after two chilly washdowns, I called the desk and they apologized and sent us some california wine as a peace offering...still, for over $600 per night, I would hope they would solve that problem...

The location of the resort is just 8 minutes from the Monterrey exit and was perfect for our three days in the area... we have stayed in over 300 properties around the globe and found this to be one of our favorites!!! have fun
