Anyone stay at the Doubletree in Santa Barbara?

I'm looking for a hotel on the beach that is nice and not too far from town. would this be a good choice? any other recommendations?

We were just there. Very large property. Don't stay near the pool if you don't like noise. They have water aerobics there and it was noisy. We upgraded to an ocean-view room and it was nice as it could be except for it's up against a busy street.

All the hotels in Santa Barbara, except for the Biltmore are on the wrong side of a busy, busy street from the beach. The Doubletree has one of the best spots, but the Raddision and the Santa Baraba Inn are also pretty good for that area.

Our favorite is the Harbor View Inn.
Santa Barbara Inn is well-located but the hotel itself is nothing special, "fading" would be a good word for it.

Stayed there 3 months ago. Nice property, large rooms, near enough to State Street. Be sure to use Priceline for room. Check biddingfortravel.com for help.
