I would drive up either mount evans (if it is still open) or go up through RMNP. Boulder has a nice pedestrian street (Pearl street) which is interesting. Breckenridge - I can't remember the name - it is in a victorian house about a block off the main drag.

You will be there at the best possible time - the aspens will all be yellow by then - it will look gorgeous!
I recomment Flagstaff House for fine dining. It is in the hills above Boulder and is one of my favorite dining experiences of all time! The view is wonderful, food is spectacular.

Was just in Breckenridge. Had a poor meal and service at 'The Drege'. Most everything is in walking distance; however, at 9,600 ft, walking is an 'interesting' choice. Actually,. breathing is more 'interesting'. For a great view of the Breckenridge area, travel up the Boreas Pass road to some overlooks (still on paved road).

There are great hike and bike trails in Boulder - right in town, and most along rushing rapids (at least when we were there). It seemed like we heard rushing water everywhere we went there. Also, I noticed for some strange reason a lack of auto-exhaust fumes (yes, I notice weird things). Lots of healthy resturant choices if you like that sort of thing. The Rocky Mountain National Park can be really a great trip if you like to hike and see waterfalls and wildlife.
Watch those prairie dogs - the city of Boulder seems overrun by them.
