My suggestions are:
1) Put the location in your title. When this shows up, all we see is "Any Suggestions" - that doesn't tell us where you are going. There are lots of people here who can help you, but many won't even click on a post without the location in the title.
2) Use the search box at the top of your screen. For example, type in the word "inexpensive", then highlight Hawaii. You will get literally hundreds of posts that have already answered this question.
Good luck!

regardless of the island, you should probably try and rent a condo, you can get them at a reasonable price and it's more room than a hotel room for four. check out vrbo.com, they have tons of hawaii rentals. also if you want air cond. ASK the renter, not all places have it.
I stayed on maui, no air, but fans, nice pool on site, ocean across the street, for about 100 a night.

Check www.biddingfortravel.com to see what prices folks have paid for hotels through Priceline.
