Our hotel choices are - Oahu, Hilton Hawaiian Village; Maui, The Whaler or Mahana & Kauai, Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy. Its our first trip to Hawaii and welcome any comments. Thanks

Your choice on Oahu is good, never stayed there myself, but it is totally self contained. Whaler on Maui is good choice, almost right on Ka'anapali Beach. We've stayed at the Mahana before, nice, but not great, no beach, just a seawall; you'll have to walk a couple hundred yards or so to get to a sandy beach. Take a look at the Maui Eldorado. We stayed there this past April and had a great time.

On Oahu, HHV is great, as long as you don't mind a lot of people - busy place! On Maui, I'd go with the Whaler - I'm not so crazy about Mahana. I haven't been to Kauai, so can't comment on that one.
