Along the Charles Roiver here in Boston, I saw a few boats who had to turn around they saw the river frozen. On the Cambridge side the rowers were out on the water without that problem.

Here near Albany NY I saw my first robin this year the first week of January.

The poor dead bird was stuck in the grill of a car with FL plates on it, someone up to ski, no doubt.

(yeh, thought the same about another "survey" by travdis as ronkala did)

In Eastern Ohio we have a little snow on the ground and some more is predicted for tonight but I have tiny snow drops that have been blooming for over a month, sometimes through the snow and sometimes under it!! There are buds on the early daffodils and I forced some forsythia in the house about a month ago. The birds think it is spring!!!!

It is a glorious day in Tampa today, after quite a cold spell most of the week. The birds are singing like crazy. The oak trees are in bloom which means lots of oak pollen in the air and clogging my pool filters. So I think it is safe to say that spring has definitely arrived here this week.

Record breaking high temperatures here this week! Remind me of this when we are on severe water restrictions this summer.

Spring has arrived in Houston in all its glory -- it's been beautiful, clear and sunny the past few days (highs in the 70's and lows in the 40's to 50's). The azaleas are in full bloom, the crepe myrtles are budding, the bridal wreath and redbuds are flowering, and the grass is green. We're even expecting the temps to get up to almost 80 degrees tomorrow! I think I won't be alone at the garden center tomorrow.

I'm off to Baltimore next week. Brrr! It looks cold there. I better find some winter clothes.

Old Man Winter and I are about to resort to fisticuffs! I've been wanting to chase his sorry @ss outta town for weeks!

Here in southern CT, it's still snowing. The 10-day forecast doesn't hold better news either--no warmer than 40, and sometimes much colder. This will be our 19th storm of the season, which is about 15 too many for me!

Hoping for warmer, sunnier days very soon!

Dreamer2--Maybe this will make you feel better. My DH was in Michigan this week. It was so warm here when he left that he forgot his jacket. He arrived VERY cold, lol! This is a man who hates to shop too, but there he was trying to find a place to buy a warm jacket.

Here in Cleveland - it is still very much winter and I'm begin to suspect it may last forever!! Reading all the other "spring" posts is completely depressing. I AM OUT OF HERE and going south as soon as the kids all graduate!!

It was snowing when I went out to lunch today in Chicago ... again. And it isn't supposed to warm up anytime soon, which is really putting a damper on my sunday plans to go to my family's annual party for the South Side Irish parade, it isn't even supposed to get above freezing on the parade day, we're going to be a bunch of green popsicles.
