My early crocus is finally ready to open. It usually does this in late February or early March. Quite a site for Mid-Michigan!

Here in the DFW area of north Texas spring has sprung. The daffodils have finished blooming and today my dogwoods blossomed! New green grass is everywhere and our phoebe is already sitting on her eggs under our eve.

Well we had about ten days of very spring like weather here in the Sacramento Valley, and then violent storms again. Not as bad as other part of the country of course. But the feeling of spring is not here now. But we keep hoping it will return.

Reporting from west of the Poconos in Pennsylvania, again -

We had snow most of yesterday, again, into the evening. It was a real heavy, wet snow, hard to remove. YUCK!!

On Tuesday the temperature did get into the 50's. It was a beautiful day. I spent the whole day in the garden, and now my body aches from all the bending. But it was worth it - the garden looked nice when I was finished. Then it snowed....

Oh well. Peace.

Robyn >-

Minneapolis--I know--could it be possible that we have melted our snow--YES! Easter Sunday and Monday were spectacular--60's and sunny--today is rainy but still warm. Grass is brown, but the rain will change that...but of course it will drop back to 40's again..and admist all this our beautiful city lakes we are famous for are still ice covered--but the ice has turned from white to silvery blue--too warm at night--not freezing right now. We gain 10 degrees by getting rid of ice and snow cover.

Wow, do we have spring in Chicago. Am I glad I took off all the mulch and cleaned all old growth off last week!

And this year, not only did March come in like a lion, but is going out like a lion as well. The storms last evening were fast and furious. We got large hail, and yet it was very warm and things are growing like crazy. My clemetis have started to take off and hyacinths and early tulips are up but not open.

I saw a microburst coming home last night from work and someone's garbage can hit my back windshield. The microburst contained a goodly portion of building materials and I saw it come across a large parking lot going parallel to me. It tipped over a semi-truck just 2 blocks from where I was.
Wind is still heavy today. Spring is rain in Chicago and it's here full boat.

Tuesday, March 29, Olney, MD...northern DC suburbs. Irrefutable sign of spring: The door-to-door solicitors are out. Two of them rang my bell today!

Hi mrwunrfl! Haven't seen you lately.
My son tells me how beautiful the cherry blossoms are in Japan..will you take a picnic and sit in the park like they do in Tokyo?

Hi Scarlett! O genki desu ka? (How are u?). I've been hanging out at the Asia forum. If you haven't yet, you should come over and read emd's Japan trip report, it is wonderful. Thank you for the excellent idea: I think an obento under the sakura next to the Tidal Basin would be the thing to do.

Spring was here for a bit, but last night I stood waiting for the train in 38F freezing rain. I'm sure it will be back though ... today is sunny, but chilly.

Here in the southern Smoky Mountains buds on some trees, jonquils are blooming, grass turning green. And then Saturday night we had a howling snowstorm but the next day was sunny and 60's. Go figure.

Just this morning I saw an army division of Robins on my yard! What a fantastic sight. It looked like "The Birds".
