Thanks but no thanks, BuffaloGirl. I think that the local honors go to someplace in the middle of Cape Cod (Hyannis, maybe), where they've gotten more snow this year than in the past decade, I think. They've certainly broken their previous all-time seasonal record. It'll be a loooong time before we hear any more jokes about winter golf.

Spring training just started. We've already had at least two weeks of spring breakers. The traffic is bad and there's lots of license plates from Massachusetts. And it takes a lot longer to get a table at Caddy's on Sunset Beach :-"

Message: LA (Lower Alabama, that is)

Rain is coming through so we'll cool back down a bit. Temps up in the 70's the last 2-3 days. Glad it will cool alittle. If it gets too warm too early we miss Spring altogether and head straight into our hot, muggy summers.

But Zootsi, I've seen a few Frost Heave signs and those are always a harbinger of Spring. Although it is Town Meeting week and it's supposed to be muddy. Somebody must be starting their tomato seeds.

The male cardinals have started singing here north of Boston. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for red-winged blackbirds-another harbinger of spring. Robins stay all winter, so they are no longer a dependable sign. As for daffys and crocuses, we''l have to wait until the snow(more on the way today)melts!

Last night it started raining (a lot), and today it's cool and VERY windy. This past weekend, we were at about 70 degrees and beautiful. Atlanta has wonderful spring and fall, but the summer sure does get hot and muggy. Spring and fall are my favorites. I think after the cool snap it's supposed to go back up to around 60 degrees.

We've had no snow this winter -- only a one-day ice storm about a month ago.

Oh, I forgot to say that the daffodils are blooming, and the trees are budding.

Checking in from the Poconos of Pennsylvania (well, just west of the Poconos, in the Susquehanna Valley)...

WWAAAAHH...It's snowing, again!!!!!

Yesterday the temperature was close to 50 degrees, the snow began to melt, and I could see my daffodils beginning to poke through the soil. This morning they're covered with snow again.

All the snow has made it tough on the wildlife. We had 9 deer in our backyard last night scrounging for food. Hope spring gets here soon. (I curse that darn groundhog!) Peace. >-

JJ5 is right, people were positively giddy in Chicago on Sunday. However, last night when I got off the subway to walk home, it was snowing, and it is now 18F (but sunny). Ahh.... spring. There were flowers (I don't know what kind) popping up in my parents place in NW Indiana, however, they might be soon covered with snow as lake affect snow is predicted.

Yes! In San Antonio the live oak trees are shedding seemingly billions and billions of leaves. In our yard, the esperanza, lantana, and hibiscus are beginning to sport tiny green leaves. But no signs of life yet from the red oak trees, pentas, crepe myrtles or trumpet vines Have yet to see any bluebonnets or wild flowers

Home from school on a storm day. I think we will be going to school, making up storm days, in July. But in Maine, we don't expect Spring. Just Mud Season, then a week or 2 of summerish.
This winter has been tough.
Today must be the day to write a trip report about my Florida trip in February!

Right now, the Massachusetts teachers unions are really, really glad that they have that clause about NOT having to work after June 30. But it could mean they will have to give up some Saturdays or April vacation. Already, most schools have decided to be in session on Good Friday even though it's traditionally a day off. (I have a feeling that most of the relevant worship takes place in airports.) One school that tried to make up some time during the regular February vacation had a snow day on their makeup day!

I'm right here with Buffalogirl.
What's spring?
Hell....what's summer?
It's bad when you need to take a vacation in the spring, summer, and winter to escape the weather blues!

Pussywillows are out in Southcentral Alaska. Also, the snow around my front step is receding, similar to a glacier, and the moose are back from the hills, eating my lilac bushes down to nothing!
