Any good restaurants walking distance HNL?

Any restaurants walking distance HNL. What is the best option in the airport or right outside of?

There's restaurants in the airport. Other than that you'd need to use transportation to get somewhere.

There used to be a branch of Kakaako Kitchen in the Airport Industrial Park on Koapaka Street, about 1/2 mile from the main terminal. But I heard it closed down? Maybe someone from Honolulu knows if it's still there? The food was pretty good, although the "restaurant" is vary plain - a lot of people would just do take-out.

Also about 1/2 mile away is the Plaza Hotel, which has buffet and ala cart for lunch. It might be a little better than the airport food.

Other than that, I can't think of anything right outside the airport.

Chan's Buffet is about 1/2 mile toward downtown.

There is a restaurants in at least one of three airport hotels. You could take the free shuttles or walk. They are within about 20 minute walk.

Byron's is somewhere near the airport, though it is more like a drive-in.

I don't have any idea if there are decent sidewalks in the area.

Lots of other choices. There are several in same strip mall where Chan's is.

How much time do you have between flights (I'm assuming you're looking to eat between flights).

Just be careful though. It's not exactly walker friendly around the airport.

Thanks all, well I posted this late.

I saw my nephew off at the airport. He was leaving the island from a 2 yr station here in the navy. told me he wanted to get there early for a 6pm flight. So he arrived at 12:30pm and would not go outside the airport. We spent 3 hours talking at Starbucks, I did not have a boarding past for restaurants beyond the gate.

Should have posted earlier, but he would not leave for Mitch's that fodors suggests just outside of HNL.

Oh well glad I had time with him.

Thanks everyone.
