Aloha songs please help.
Hi Went to Kauai recently and wanted to know who sang the following songs. I wich they were all on the same cd I could purchase, we listened to the Aloha stations all the time and enjoyed the music so much. Auntie maria even told me one of the artits but I lost the paper.
1- Funky Hula Girl
2- Fell in love with a one night stand
Their were a few more of course I cannot remember now. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good hawaiian cd, with more upt to date music like these tunes?
Mahalo!!

Met her out on the beach one day
Still remember what she smelled like...

Funky Hula Girl is Wade Cambern--it's more than a few years old
There are some good compilation cds available. The "Hawaiian Style" cds have a good mix of local artists. Some of my current favorite artists are Nuff Sedd (Their Open Doors For Strangers cd is fabulous!), Malino, Justin Kawika Young, Oshen, Ekolu, Ata Damasco...but, as always, your tastes may differ from mine. The Raiatea Helm cd is in my cd player right now...I adore Uncle Richarde Ho`opi`i too (he's playing at the fair tomorrow--yay!)

My uncle manages Justin Kawika Young and he played the fair Friday and today (Saturday). Going out there again tomorrow. Maybe see you there, here today. Yeah, you and the whole rest of da island!

I just got back from the fair! DH had to work tonight--had to go today. I thought he played Thurs. Shoots! I had a chance to go last night and blew it off. If I had known Justin was there I would have been there for sure. But I saw Justin at the Canoe Festival and at the Taste of Lahaina, so I'm good for now!

Funky Hula Girl is on a CD called A Blue Canoe by Wade Cambern. We stopped at a Borders type store on the way home to the airport in Maui to buy it back in 2001. It's a great CD. I still listen to it before vacations to get in the island mood.
