I think they're the same.

Most people just choose the one that works with their frequent flyer program.

Absolutely no difference.
Check the schedules and select the one which fits yours best.

They're both excellent..........Aloha has a rep for being a little 'warmer' & more on-time, but I've never noticed any difference!

I've only flown each airline once, so take this with a grain of salt:

Aloha - Kauai to Maui - flight was delayed over an hour, no reason given. The airplane was a VERY old 737-200 that looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The air conditioner up by the cockpit was misting badly, it looked like smoke and prompted many passengers to ask the flight attendants if everything was ok. Cockpit door flew open with a bang just as our wheels left the runway. This was one month after 9/11 and everyone just shook their heads.

Hawaiian - Maui to Big Island - The flight was on time and it was a brand new Boeing 717. I didn't want to leave the plane after such a short trip, it was so nice and comfy.

Service on both airlines was typical Hawaii - very nice.

Oahu to Maui is such a short flight, who cares about the service. Get on, take a 10 min. snooze and poof, you are there. Aloha!

I like Aloha but they are similar. I would also look at who has the best times for your journey.

Hawaiian has all new planes but we fly Aloha as we use an Aloha Airlines MasterCard. (We have redeemed 100+ free tickets so far!)

People who live in Hawaii usually stick to one carrier so they can accrue miles. Hawaiian is partners with American, Continental, Northwest. Aloha is partners with United, Delta. There isn't much of a difference in the actual service.

You probably can get a better price on your flight by buying your airfare at www.pleasantholidays.com or www.ata.com. Compare the two for prices before purchasing. Sometimes the Pleasant Holiday site has lower ATA airfare than the ATA site.

I believe one of them offers a discount to AAA members.

I believe it is Aloha, and that they offer a 10% discount to AAA members.
