Alexandria/DC Hotels

Hi!

I'm looking for a hotel in the Alexandria area, or something in DC close to the Metro for a commute to Embassy Suites in Alexandria.

Most of the hotels in Alexandria seem to be booked, too far from the Metro, or out of my budget. Budget is about $150-200 per night.

And I'm not familiar with the DC area so a bit stuck on where to start looking. I need a hotel that is a walkable distance from the Metro though.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

You could stay in Crystal City near the Metro. The Marriott, the Sheraton. There's a Hampton Inn. YOu should be able to find something in your price range. Crystal City is four stops from the Metro stop near the Embassy Suites in Alexandria. About 10-15 minutes.

FYI, Crystal City is part of Arlington, so when you do your hotel search, you will need to search for hotels in Arlington/Crystal City.

Another possibility (after Crystal City) would be the Hilton Garden Inn in Arlington which is one block from the Metro station at Courthouse on the Orange Line.

You could also consider any hotel in the Rosslyn neighborhood of Arlington as well.

Thanks everybody!
I didn't realize Crystal city etc was so close to Alexandria.

How about Washington DC proper? Would that be further of a commute than crystal city, rosslyn, etc?

Yes, it is farther. Arlington is between Alexandria and DC.

And it isn't going to be cheaper, which I assume was your goal. The cheaper accommodations are generally outside of DC.

Thanks again.

Which of these hotels are closest to Embassy Suites or to a Metro? All these hotels advertise being close to the Metro however I know this is sometimes not true. I won't be having a car and don't want to rely on a taxi.....

1) Holiday Inn Alexandria 2460 Eisenhower Ave
2) Residence Inn Alexandria 1455 Duke Street
3) Courtyard by Marriott 2700 Eisenhower Av
4) Hampton Inn 1616 King Street
5) Any others?

Loads of thanks,

Never mind, only Hampton Inn has availability. Are there any other hotels in the area I haven't mentioned?
