Alexander vs Newport vs Roney?
Hi everyone, i have a question, which would be better for a family with two teenagers to keep busy...Alexander Hotel Resort (a private condo), Newport Oceanfront Resort or a private condo at Roney Palace? They want a resort environment with a great beach and pool! We also decided to rent a car. Thanks so much!

Judging by the only other question mamakaril has asked on this forum (10 days ago) I'd say Miami (Beach).
Mamakaril, you'll do better with responses by putting the city or location in the subject as well as (or instead of) the actual resort names.

If you are in South Beach, prepare to add $20-$40 per day on to your car rental fee for parking.
I didn't think the Roney Palace had started re-renting yet. They were doing some serious construction last time I went by there. I'd call Roney Palace and find out what is going on.
You can also rent privately from The Shelbourne. Check out VRBO.com.

I think the Newport property is wa-a-a-a-y up in the Sunny Isles Beach area. I don't know that there's an awful lot to do, other than the beach, around there, and am unsure of any resort amenities available there. But hey-- as long as you have a car, the fun stuff south of there are a drive down Collins.
The Alexander is mid-Beach, more urban in flavor but similarly without a heck of a lot to do in the immediate area. Again, fun stuff is a short drive away. The word on the Fountainbleau (basically in the same area) is so mixed-- either rapturous or out-and-out damning-- that I'd avoid it, although it does have a pretty wild pool area. The Eden Roc, maybe?
Go's suggestion is great (as usual). The Shelbourne is in the northern part of South Beach, on the ocean and a short walk to Lincoln Road and other fun South Beach stuff. There are other timeshares in the area, but most don't have pools, so if you MUST have a pool it's probably your best bet.

Thanks for the info. Larry, sorry, i thought i was in a Miami forum when i asked the question. Yes i am a new user. I guess thats obvious, eh?
I thought about the Eden Roc too. It looks good and a lot of fun. I'll try to get a better price. When you are staying a week, nights add up so fast! I couldn't find the Shelbourne on vrbo.com, but i will keep checking. I have been offered a great deal on the Alexander by owner, and it comes with a parking space, but i don't know if it is "resort" enough. I have never had this much trouble making up my mind before!!!
