We just booked flights to Yellowstone for August. Jackson Hole (code is jac) is closest. Another option is Idaho Falls - about 2 hours away and depending on origination point and airline might be cheaper.
Southwest flies into Salt Lake City and we found that air fare to be $200 cheaper than either of above, but drive is about 6 hours.
To research flights, I used one of the sites (like itasoftware, Expedia, etc.) that lets you check off alternate airports and then you can compare flights.
Be prepared for likely cost higher than you expect - we could have flown Boston-California for half what it is costing us to fly to Wyoming.

JAC is the closest to the Tetons and WYS (West Yellowstone) is at the northwest corner of Yellowstone. WYS has fewer flights. I rented a car at JAC and dropped off at WYS without a drop fee so perhaps it could save some driving time.
