Yellowstone - which airport?

We are considering taking my mother-in-law to Yellowstone for her 70th birthday - coming frm San Jose, CA - and am wondering which airports make sense to fly into.

Thanks

Jackson Hole, WY. You get there with a connection in Salt Lake City.

Definitely Jackson Hole. Just on the south side of Grand Tetons and very easy to Yellowstone.

Jackson Hole. But, if are considering scenic drives, you might want to include the Beartooth Hwy. You could fly into Billings and then the return out of Jackson. We did this in June without incurring much more of a cost.

I would check Jackson, Billings, and Bozeman.

In July 2009 we will fly into Billings, spend 6 days in the Gardiner area and than drive to Jackson for 3 days. We will leave from Jackson for our flight back to Chicago.I have checked rates and it really is not a lot more for this open jaw flight and much more convenient than driving all the way back to Billings for our return flight.

November,

There is a non-stop between SFO and Bozeman that operates on Saturdays during summer and winter seasons. If you're trip is not so late as to miss the end of the summer season it would definitely be worth the drive to SF to get that non-stop. The air time is only about 2hrs and 20 minutes. Bozeman is a 90 minute drive to Gardiner, the north entrance and also to West Yellowstone, the west entrance.

I live in Bozeman and took it myself on Aug. 2nd. It was great!

Believe me, we've had repeat guests out of San Jose that have done both a connection and the non-stop and they'll never go back to the connection if they can help it.

Best to you,

-doo

Ah, I forgot to write that the non-stop between SFO and Bozeman is United.

Nice - that non-stop SFO to Boseman looks great.
