Former TWA: Teeny Weeny Airlines

United: Untied or Untidy

My fave redo of an acronym was for the old DL&W railroad. It was really the Delaware, Lackawanna and something ... It was known as the "Delay, Linger & Wait."

A few years ago after waiting in Atlanta for four hours, I came up with DELTA--Doesn't Ever Leave The Airport.

AirTran - the fares are low, but the perks are few.
They don't even have oxygen masks. The flight attendant says: "should we need air, break a window".

Don't know if this is true, but I think of it on every flight I'm on! It's a flight attendant on SWA givng pre-flight instructions:
"in the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, oxygen masks will descend from the ceiling. Stop screaming, grab the mask, and pull it over your face. If you have a small child traveling with you, secure your mask before assisting with theirs. If you are traveling with two small children, decide now which one you love more."

TACA = Take a Chance Airlines

Luckily US Air and other airlines have increased their presence in Latin America so that I never have to fly TACA again!
