airfare from detroit

A couple of weeks ago I bought a roundtrip ticket from Detroit to honolulu for 413.00. I must have died and went to heaven with that kind of luck. Now I want to buy a ticket for a friend and the price is up to 600.00 (which isn't bad). Do you think the price will drop again before mid/late april or should I buy the 600.00 ticket now?

Do you plan to travel together? If it were me, I would book the friend's ticket now, to assure being on the same flight. June, and all of summer, is a popular travel because the kids are out of school. I doubt the fare will drop for summer travel.

Thanks all. I booked the ticket. It cost 600.00. Still not too bad.

If you purchased the ticket on Northwest Airlines, then you can have your friend call weekly to ask them to reprice the ticket. If the price is lower, then you will have to pay a fee of $25 but the remainder will be issued in a form of a credit voucher, good for any future trips on NWA up to one year.

I have also gotten a credit voucher on US Airways as well. I'm not sure if any other airlines have the same rule or not.
