You can choose a flight and they will send you e-mails if the price drops. They also give you predictions on what they think the market will do.

Google "If airlines sold paint" It would be funny if it wasn't so true.
Buying airline tickets is a crapshoot. Kudos to Southwest for at least allowing a change without the huge cancellation fee.
I have found my best fares about 3-4 months ahead. With the new fuel increases though--who knows?
We've been tracking flights for a November wedding, we have people departing from numerous airports--just waiting for SW to release their November dates.

Have you seen any gas prices coming down recently?
We have found it more and more expensive and difficult to book US business trips since so many people are staying home - presumably since the dollar has tanked in europe.
I would expect prices to increase - not decrease.
