Advice re: Vegas Strip Hotel Bargains
Need help w/search for best bargains (under $100.00?)at a good 3-5 star hotel ie Belagio MGM, Boardwalk, Aladdin, Paris etc... Am flying in (solo female nurse & feel need good hotel for security)on 2-6-04 on my own money as my work related education company won't pay for early 1 night stay and airfare and I'd like to see the Vegas strip 1 night as the rest of the time we will be in night time seminars...so I would appreciate advice as I need a bargain...
Could anyone who has had luck with internet sites, promos, how to ask the hotel for a discount etc pls help? Thanks very much.

2/6/04 is a weekend night (highest rates in LV are Fri-Sat nights) so there's no way you'll find a $100 rate at places like Bellagio or Venetian, etc.
In quickly checking rates I also see that this is a busy weekend in LV.
Even poor places to stay like Circus Circus are $99, and Aladdin (which is one of the best bargains in LV for what you get) is $249.
Excalibur is one of the worst places on the strip and often runs $49 a night during low periods--it's $149 on 2/6. That's a very bad sign.
Hate to be a doomsayer but it looks like bargains will be near impossible to find on strip hotels on that night.

This is a great site to get info on all the hotels and comparisons. Has maps etc so you can see where they are all located, and funny reviews of the different properties

The Orleans is very nice for the money, but it is off the strip. There is a shuttle that will carry you back and forth, I believe. I don't know what their rates are for that date but you might give it a try. Rooms are really QUITE NICE there.

Barbary Coast and Orleans are "sister" hotels. Both have very reasonable rates and the rooms are identical in layout (but decorated VERY differently). There is a free shuttle between them.
If you stay at Barbary Coast you are right in the heart of the strip on the same corner with Bally's, Cesaers & Bellagio - an outstanding location for a value-priced hotel. Our room overlooked the fountains at Bellagio. (The street noise was too loud to hear much of the music, but I loved seeing the fountain!) There are pedestrian bridges for EZ access to the other hotels/casinos from just outside Barbary's entrance.

Night time seminars in Vegas...how cruel!
Do not for any reason stay at the Boardwalk.
I second..or third the idea of the Orleans for the value.
However if this is your first trip the LV in recent years then pop for the extra $ to stay on the strip. The Monte Carlo is a really nice place that is usually reasonable and well located.
