Never used Hotwire, Should I buy LasVegas for $348 12/29-1/5?

Kinda scared to push the button since I've never used Hotwire.

Any thoughts from you experts?

Thanks.

I've used Hotwire a lot. However when going to Vegas (for price and location) I've had better luck calling the hotels direct or visiting their websites. Hope this helps.

Sorry I didn't explain - this is airfare I'm referring to.
Thanks.

Have you done any research to see what else you can get price-wise? A very quick search shows me $380 through expedia (on ATA I think) and the same on Spirit at their web site - plus if you are willing to stay an extra day you're airfare would be $70 cheaper (of course, you'd have an extra day's hotel and meals, but you'd be in Vegas longer).

I would not personally use hotwire to save $30 or less on a flight, especially for such a short vacation. You could end up arriving at 11:59pm on the 29th and taking off very early on the 5th, leaving you fewer days at your destination. But if the $30 is important to you, try hotwire.

I think 348 is a great buy, especially if it is direct. If you have connections, i would say you shuld do a little research.
Availability is tight during this travel period.

FYI - You cannot specify a direct flight through hotwire. You have the option of 0-1 stops or 1-2 stops, so at this price the flight may or may not be direct.

Hotwire is great for hotels and cars, I would never use for flights. There are usually stops and at off-peak times. Southwest has nothing better?

Southwest doesn't even have availability on the 29th.
Leaving a day later SW's cheapest flight is $415.
That's a ridiculously high fare to LV.
The problem is that you've waited too long and you're trying to fly out there at a very popular time.
I suspect you'll find nothing better than what you got on Hotwire (which I never use for flights for the same reason jenifer noted).

Spirit Airlines flies that route directly, and usually has the lowest fares.

You might consider becoming a member of bestfares.com They often have good deals and you can choose the airline and time of day for your flight.
