a long weekend around salt lake in July
An old college friend and I are planning to meet in salt Lake for 4 days in July. Any ideas of things to do around that vicinity? Canyonlands and beyond may be a bit of a drive. Any rafting? I imagine the ski areas would be pretty?

Some options to look into:
--Explore the canyons (City Creek,Big Cottonwood, Little Cottonwood, Emigration, etc.)
--Some of the ski resorts allow mountain biking on their runs in the summer
--Red Butte Gardens
--Salt Lake City has a great Saturday Market at Pioneer Park downtown (usually 8am -1pm). Lots of produce/fruit/flowers, food vendors, and art/crafts.

I've enjoyed hiking up Mt. Timpanogos and visiting Timpanagos Cave when in Salt Lake.
